I love this video! Great conceptĀ andĀ execution.
]]>And I thought that riding my bike from Brooklyn to Manhattan was an accomplishment...

Be warned, the video is quite graphic, 6 minutes long, and very upsetting. Makes me so glad that I am a vegetarian.

I spotted this one near my office, on Astor Place. They seemed to be doing some testing.
]]>Thanks to the wonderful options at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden plant sale, my pots are looking stellar! Now, to keep it that way...
Dahlias
Rununculs, Coleus in the planter, and a nice grass in the can

Pansies!

]]>Cooper Union has announced that it will leave its charter and now begin to charge a "steeply sliding" tuition. Students and alumni are heartbroken, understandably. Today they protest by painting the very windows of their own school
Absolutely, justly earned
Sit through the overtly racist intros and watch these folks put on a seriously good bhangra routine.
Motherly love is an incredible thing to watch.

Hopefully more grow from where I cut.

At the downtown Astor Place 6 stop a tagger has tagged the neon lights above the tracks. Very geometric pattern, with a simple, jagged stroke. Sometimes I really dislike destructive graffiti, but I find this very artistically pleasing.
Lovely storytelling
My wonderful school has sent me on a 2-week journey to India with 12 7th and 8th graders, and 2 other faculty members. We are part of an exchange program with a school in New Delhi for a week, but we are spending the first week traveling from Agra (Taj Mahal) to Rajasthan. If the first few days are any indicator, we are in for a truly magical 2 weeks.
Enjoy some of the sights and flavors of my trip thus far.
Though better than seeing a blue screen of death.
Might be coming alive now!
