I have 13 days to plan in Italy between Rome, Foggia & Amalfi Coast. Can you help?

Hi people of the internet that I'm connected to. I am traveling to Italy for a friend's wedding (4 days in Rodi Garganico, Foggia) and have the balance of 13 days to spend in Italy. I'm thinking of a blend of Rome and the Amalfi Coast. I'm hoping to crowdsource some ideas on where to stay (hotels, guesthouses, hostels, I'm open minded) and what to do while there.

If any of you have some wonderful experiences or know some people I can talk to, I'd appreciate leads. Let's see how well my network extends into Italy.

Wish I had something for you here, but I'm excited to see how this experiment goes! Alex
I received a couple messages via Twitter that might turn out to be helpful. Need to retweet it, I suppose, to get some more eyeballs on it.
Hey arvind - I was in Italy last September for about a wedding last september

In Rome, Hotel Lancelot, which is run by the best friend of a family friend, is very low key, clean, affordable, and a stone's throw from the Colosseum. Definitely worth staying there for a night or two if you want to be near some of the historical sites.

I can help you with Amalfi ...
Arvind,

A few years back I stayed at Hotel 47 in rome. Its a small boutique hotel that's walking distance to all of the main attractions. Most importantly it was a very short walk to Trastevere which is a fun neighborhood with many great food choices.

We also did a day trip to Florence which was easy because of the high speed trains.

Don't miss Pompeii if you head south towards the amalfi coast from Rome.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. These are all helpful!
