Another way Google's Android software is better than Apple's iPhone software

The New York Times did an excellent summary of Google's new App Creator for Android. Why wait for someone to build an app for your phone when you can just build it yourself. Easily.

This is a great example of why my next phone will be an Android phone and not an Apple phone. I want a phone that lets me do what I want with it, not what Apple engineers let me do with it.

Well, you *could* register to be an iPhone developer, download a huge development kit, and try your luck... but this is obviously world's better. Love that they included sixth graders and high school girls in their pool of beta testers! They really want this to be an approachable tool, which is so so great.

Don't forget to add the small, but important: learn objective C programming to the iPhone list ;)

I'm wondering if I should do a unit with it during my Principles of Programming class this year. We use Processing, but this might be a fun additional project.
