Sync any (almost) phone with your music, videos, photos, podcasts. Finally.

doubleTwist is a good-looking software package that can manage your media (music, photos, video, podcasts) so that it can be accessed by your mobile device (Android, Palm, BlackBerry, etc). If someone wants the media skills of an iPod with the flexibility of an open platform, this might be the killer app.

As I look to transition from my BlackBerry to likely an Android-based phone, this might be just what I need.

William Kentridge at the Museum of Modern Art - worth seeing

I just went to the Museum of Modern Art on a 10th grade studio art show. We were there to see the work of William Kentridge, a South African Artist. I won't do justice with an explanation, so I encourage you to check out their web version of the exhibition and of course, the real thing at the museum.

It is some of the most incredible drawing I have ever seen, and combined into a film medium with stop-motion animation that will blow your mind. The technical complexity was beyond comprehension, and the splicing of imagery, sound, film techniques, drawing, and more are simply sublime.

Because one of our teachers is a "Modern Educator," we were able to go on a day where the museum is normally closed to the public, and I even got a free pass to go anytime through September 2010. Sweet! Now, to wait on line when the museum is open to the public, argh.

TEDxNYED is looking for music to play during the conference. Could it be yours?

TEDxNYED is looking for music to play between speakers, during the day around the hall, and well, whenever we need it. Embracing free culture, and being sure not to violate copyright, we're looking for musicians or bands that would love to have their music played during our future-thinking conference. Mostly we'll use the music between speakers, but some of it may pipe out over our live stream and may make it into our videos which will be featured on TEDx's YouTube channel, and might even make it to the big show at TED.com.

Do you want to freely license us your music? Do you know someone who does? However it might work, put them in touch with me, leave a comment here, Twitter me, e-mail me at: arvind AT tedxnyed.com - just reach out.

Looking forward to seeing what the network comes back with.

p.s. we're an independently organized TED event.
